Venue // The White Barn
There’s something about spring in San Luis Obispo that feels like a breath of something new—soft citrus air, warm light, and florals waking up in shades you can almost taste. Designing this suite for The White Barn was one of those projects that felt like capturing that early-season magic and translating it into paper.
For Amelia and Leo, I leaned into pastel spring wedding invitations with gentle touches of blush, rose, lemon, and orange blossom, romantic yet airy, whimsical yet refined. It’s the kind of stationery that future San Luis Obispo wedding couples dream about for those fresh spring dates in 2026.

A Suite Built on Texture, Movement & Spring Pastels
One of the true hero elements of this suite was the pink deckle paper. It was a tender blush tone that set the tone for this romantic floral wedding stationery. I paired it with soft ivory deckle pieces and translucent vellum, creating layers that felt delicate and artful without sacrificing legibility.
The vellum belly band featured a watercolor floral wrap—whimsical, airy, and perfect for pastel spring wedding inspiration. That illustration was then melted into custom wax seals, creating small, intentional echoes of the artwork across the invitation, menus, and place cards.
To carry the artistry further, I tucked the same floral design into a watercolor envelope liner, adding movement and a subtle reveal when guests first opened their suite.

Thoughtfully Chosen Materials That Tell a Story
This suite was built on playful yet refined material choices: blush deckle, ivory deckle, and vellum. Each layer added dimension to the overall design while keeping everything crisp and readable.
The pink deckle paper became the envelope liner—soft, romantic, and perfectly aligned with the couple’s whimsical spring wedding aesthetic.
To enhance cohesion, I also used the same A7 housing envelope material to create custom guest place cards. These doubled as menu keepsakes for the bride and groom, something I always offer my couples. They become such sweet, meaningful mementos of the reception tablescape.
Suite Components Included:
- blush deckle paper save the dates, detail cards, housing envelope, and place cards
- ivory deckle invitation and dinner menus
- vellum belly band and envelope liner with a watercolor floral embellishments
- custom floral wax seal
- personalized bride/groom menu place cards
- Keepsake sets for the couple, as well as a photographer-ready set for flat lays
These thoughtfully selected materials supported the future Mr. and Mrs. Anderson’s vision for soft romantic wedding colors and a spring-forward feel.

A Rosebud Monogram That Anchored the Entire Suite
For their customized couple monogram, I illustrated a floral rosebud crest—something soft, meaningful, and perfectly suited for fine art wedding invitations. Inside the crest, their shared initial sat delicately within a ring of spring florals, giving the monogram a hand-drawn, heirloom look.
This artwork appeared throughout the suite:
- anchoring the menu bottoms
- elevating the invitation
- adding structure to the save-the-date
For typography, I paired a whimsical script for titles with a clean serif for body text—readable, romantic, and consistent with the fine art California wedding aesthetic.

Menus Styled Like Spring Keepsakes
Menus are often overlooked, but for this suite, they became tiny love notes. Printed on deckle paper, each menu was topped with a custom place card featuring the watercolor floral detail used earlier in the suite.
I designed bride and groom menus individually—something that always photographs beautifully and feels incredibly personal on the wedding day.
Styled with citrus slices, spring ranunculus, and soft blossoms at the reception, the menus became natural extensions of this romantic floral wedding palette.

A Spring Story Told Through Paper
This project was everything I love about designing custom wedding stationery: romantic texture, personalized details, and that soft spring color palette that just feels fresh and easy. It all came together in a way that felt whimsical, refined, and very true to the season.
“Soft roses, lemon hues, and watercolor blooms, this suite felt like watching spring unfold in your hands.”
