Laura & Ryan’s Hydrangea Meadow-Inspired Wedding at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard
There is something especially beautiful about a wedding design that feels effortless from beginning to end. For Laura and Ryan’s May celebration at Greengate Ranch & Vineyard in San Luis Obispo, California, an airy garden-inspired palette and the Hydrangea Meadow linen became the thread that tied so many of the details together.
From their save the dates and custom wedding invitation suite to the linens, cocktail signage, and day-of paper, each element felt romantic and refined without ever becoming overdone.

The Inspiration: Hydrangea Meadow
Early in the design process, we fell in love with the Hydrangea Meadow linen for Laura and Ryan’s celebration. Its watercolor-like mix of fresh greens and hydrangea blue felt perfectly at home in the airy garden setting of Greengate Ranch & Vineyard.
That linen became one of our earliest design cues and helped establish a palette of soft sage, hydrangea blue, blush, pale yellow, ivory, and white that we could carry throughout the celebration.
Instead of simply coordinating colors, we pulled the actual watercolor pattern into the stationery—creating a visual connection between the paper guests received at home and the details they would eventually experience on the wedding day.

A Custom Wedding Invitation Suite Inspired by the Setting
Laura and Ryan’s stationery was designed to introduce the feeling of the wedding well before guests arrived at Greengate Ranch.
Their invitation suite paired soft sage envelopes with a watercolor Hydrangea Meadow liner, bringing the garden-inspired blues and greens into the suite in a beautiful but understated way. The invitation itself remained light and refined, with their custom monogram, delicate botanical corner details, sage and hydrangea blue typography, and plenty of white space.
The watercolor pattern appeared again throughout the coordinating details and belly band creating layers of color and texture as the suite was opened. Rather than using the artwork everywhere, we repeated it selectively so it became a recognizable design element without overwhelming the paper.
It was a perfect reflection of the celebration to come—fresh, romantic, elegant, and just a little playful with color.

Carrying the Design Into the Wedding Day
One of our favorite parts of creating custom wedding stationery is finding thoughtful ways to let those first paper details live beyond the invitation.
For Laura and Ryan, the design language carried throughout the celebration. Their custom LR monogram appeared again on a linen welcome sign and the soft sage seating display, while the same typography established in the stationery gave each piece a familiar, cohesive feel.

The seating chart became a beautiful moment of its own. Designed in soft, tonal greens with the couple’s monogram, it paired individual seating assignments with bud vases, florals, and framed photographs of loved ones beneath the words “Our Best Buds, Handpicked With Love.” It felt personal and meaningful while still fitting seamlessly into the overall aesthetic.

At the reception, clear acrylic table numbers kept the tables light and unobtrusive, allowing the flowers, candlelight, and Hydrangea Meadow linens to take center stage. The Hydrangea Meadow artwork returned at the bar, framing the signature cocktail menu, while coordinating wine, beer, and seltzer signage and custom cocktail napkins continued the blue and green palette.
Even the smallest pieces felt connected without being overly matched. Some elements repeated the monogram, others the typography, colors, or watercolor pattern. Together, they created a visual thread from the first piece of mail guests received all the way through the reception.

More Than the Invitation
This wedding is such a beautiful example of why we love being involved early in the planning process. The invitation may be where the visual story begins, but it certainly doesn’t have to be where it ends.
From a linen welcome sign and custom seating display to bar menus, cocktail napkins, table numbers, and reception details, we’re able to consider how the elements guests encounter throughout the entire celebration relate to one another.
When we collaborate with a talented vendor team early in the process, those decisions become part of a bigger picture. Paper, linens, florals, signage, tabletop details, and the venue can complement one another without everything needing to match exactly.
For Laura and Ryan, the result feels beautifully layered: soft, romantic, personal, and intentional from beginning to end.
